Thread power by Steelcase

Power up with Steelcase’s Thread!

Computers and tablets and phones oh my… People carry an average of three devices with them to get work done throughout the day and that technology demands power!

And that demand is growing exponentially, not only in public spaces and the workplace but in the classroom where mobile active learning spaces are becoming the norm. Outlets on the periphery no longer suffice but to alter the architecture involves core drilling and trenching which is expensive, disruptive and invasive. We need more power, but don’t have options.

Until now. Steelcase has launched an innovative little product called Thread.

Ultra thin, Thread’s simple kit of parts provides mobile power outlets to any space – whether a café or classroom – allowing under-utilized real estate to work harder. Installing Thread is as easy as laying carpet, with a modularity that makes it easy to reconfigure. Power can easily be added to new construction or retrofitted into existing spaces. At a height of just 3/16″, Thread’s power track seamlessly integrates under carpet tiles, providing power to furniture and users, without impacting foot traffic.

Power hubs are lightweight and portable, so users can bring power to any area, when and where it’s needed. Power cords are managed and stored in the hub so there are no jumbled cords as tripping hazards. Finally, a powerful solution that keeps us up and running!
