Yale New Haven Health recently expanded their patient- and family-centered outpatient services to better serve residents of eastern Fairfield County. They partnered with Red Thread for their move services in transferring six departments to their new three-story 100,000 square foot Park Avenue Medical Center. The facility combines new and existing services provided on the same campus by Bridgeport Hospital, Smilow Cancer Hospital, Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital and Northeast Medical Group.
In order to ensure a smooth transition for the 70 people relocating, the Red Thread move services team divided the move into multiple phases. The move included furniture, computers, personal items, and large medical equipment, which presented some unique challenges. PYXIS machines, pharmacy hoods and medication refrigerators/freezers needed to be coordinated with both the vendor and hospital facilities to ensure that satisfactory temperatures were maintained for the medication they contained.
The move team worked through the weekend to ensure that all treatment rooms were up and running for patients on Monday morning. This move was completed with little to no down time for all those involved!
