The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod’s renovated 37,000-square-foot headquarters is a perfect example of combining modernity with tradition. The design incorporates natural light, comfortable seating, and biophilia, creating a “resimercial” atmosphere that helps employees feel at home. To support both open and private work environments, Red Thread utilized Steelcase’s Lite Scale and Privacy Wall systems. These demountable walls provide transparency and flexibility, allowing for a bright, open feel while also offering enclosed conference rooms and meeting spaces for privacy when needed.

The flexibility of the demountable walls supports the bank’s digital transformation efforts by accommodating different types of workspaces and technology integration. The environment includes dedicated workstations, multi-purpose rooms for training and presentations, and multiple Microsoft Teams rooms to facilitate seamless virtual collaboration. By integrating these walls, the Cooperative Bank can continue adapting its workspace as technology and employee needs evolve.

2. Hospice of Southern Maine – Scarborough, ME

Creating a Welcoming and Integrated Community Space

For the Hospice of Southern Maine’s new facility, Red Thread designed a space that supports both the organization’s operational needs and its mission of community outreach. The new location serves home-care clinical teams, offering a blend of training and community spaces that allow for privacy and collaboration. The demountable wall systems installed by Red Thread played a key role in this integration, offering flexible solutions for the learning and simulation lab, family bereavement suite, and large community boardroom.

The demountable walls allowed the organization to create adaptable spaces that could easily be reconfigured for different events, training sessions, and community activities. By utilizing flexible wall systems, the space remains functional while accommodating a variety of programs. This solution fosters a sense of community while maintaining the privacy and quiet necessary for grief counseling and patient support services.

3. Aroma Joe’s – Scarborough, ME

Brewing Success with Flexible Spaces

As Aroma Joe’s relocated its headquarters to Scarborough, they aimed to design a space that was as dynamic and flexible as the fast-growing franchise itself. To achieve this, Red Thread implemented Steelcase Privacy Walls, which provide on-demand flexibility for their expanding needs. These walls create a variety of workspaces within the 8,480-square-foot office, from quiet retreats for focused work to open collaborative zones for spontaneous brainstorming sessions in the Collab Café.

The demountable walls align with Aroma Joe’s growth trajectory, allowing the space to evolve with the company. By integrating these adaptable systems, the company can easily modify the space to accommodate future needs, whether it’s expanding their training rooms or adjusting collaborative zones. The flexibility of these walls ensures that the headquarters remains a productive and engaging environment that caters to various work styles, ultimately supporting the company’s innovation and success.

4. Confidential Investment Management Firm – Stamford, CT

Seamlessly Integrating Security and Functionality

For this confidential investment management firm, Red Thread delivered a custom solution using Steelcase’s Everwall system to meet the high security and acoustic needs of a financial institution. The installation, featuring 300 linear feet of walls with segmented designs and unique details like tapered horizontal elements, provides both privacy and a sophisticated aesthetic. The walls include tinted film, frosted glass, and frameless doors with drop seals to ensure confidentiality, along with mag locks for added security.

Red Thread’s coordination with the AV provider allowed for seamless integration of room scheduling technology directly into the wall systems. This integration enabled discreet cable management, keeping the space clean and professional. The demountable walls support a variety of spaces, from conference rooms and huddle spaces to telephone booths, demonstrating how the right wall system can merge security with functional and aesthetic needs. The project was completed in less than a week, minimizing disruption and showcasing Red Thread’s efficiency and attention to detail.

5. bluebird bio – Somerville, MA

Creating a Flexible Hybrid Workspace for Increased Productivity

As bluebird bio moved its headquarters from Cambridge to Somerville’s Assembly Row, the focus was on designing a space that supported hybrid work and increased productivity.
